President Ram Nath Kovind Graces IIT Kanpur Convocation Ceremony
While addressing the audience at the 51st convocation ceremony of IIT Kanpur, President Ram Nath Kovind urged the students to contribute to the national missions while focusing on their career simultaneously. As many as 1,500 students graduated from IIT Kanpur this year.
President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the 51st convocation of IIT Kanpur where he gave away graduation degrees to around 1,500 students. While addressing the audience, President Ram Nath Kovind urged the students of IIT Kanpur to contribute to national missions of the country.
In his convocation speech, the President talked about many exciting opportunities available to passing out students. According to him, the countries with a growing economy which is fast-paced offers a huge scope to young talented students. He said that the government has taken many initiatives to improve the quality of life of citizens and is going to do the same in future as well.

He also guided the students to make significant use of their talent and education and bring radical changes in the society. While highlighting the efforts of the government till now, he spoke about initiatives such as Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, Digital India, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation or AMRUT, Make in India, Start-up India, etc. He informed the students that apart from building up their careers, they should try to contribute to such national missions as well.

During the convocation, he presented degrees and medals to meritious students of IIT Kanpur. Outstanding students were also honored with director's medal, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma gold medal, President’s medal during the ceremony proceedings. Over 186 Ph.D. degrees were awarded to the students at the ceremony.
