IIT Madras Jubilee Celebration to be Held in 83 Cities Worldwide
It is for the very first time IIT Madras that more than 3500 alumni of IIT Madras will be celebrating its diamond jubilee in 83 cities across the globe on July 13th.
On 13th July 2019, The Indian Institute of Technology - IIT Madras Alumni are going to celebrate the Diamond jubilee feat of the prestigious institute in across 83 cities in the world. A press release stated that the graduates passed in 1964 to the graduates of 2019, all will be celebrating the Diamond jubilee in the cities like Seattle, Toronto, Tokyo, Sydney, Berlin, Helsinki, Hong Kong etc.
Major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai etc will also be hosting the festivals for IIT Madras Diamond Jubilee. The IITM proudly announced in the Press Release that this is the first time in the history of Indian Institute of Technology or IITs across India to host such a gala event on the same date worldwide in total 83 cities. IIT Madras looks forward to showcasing the alumni strength of the Institute on a grand scale globally.
The IIT Madras started its journey in 1959 in Madras established by the government of India with the assistance of the federal republic of Germany of then. The then union minister of scientific research and cultural affairs prof. Humayun Kabir inaugurated the institute back then.

The Dean of International And Alumni Relations at IIT-M, professor Mahesh Panchagnula, said in a statement that the Alumni of the ‘60 years young’ institution of IIT Madras is embarking, planning & celebrating the IIT Madras diamond jubilee on a massive scale which is an evidence to the impression that the institution has executed in such a short span of time.
