IIT Madras Launches New Development Center
IIT Madras has launched a new development centre of alfaTKG as a part of industry academia collaboration.
After entering into a collaboration with Japanese firm Alfa TKG Co Ltd, IIT Madras has launched a new development centre of alfaTKG as a part of industry-academia collaboration. The center was inaugurated on Saturday, 8th October 2016 by Toshio Takagi, President and CEO (India) at the IIT Madras Research Park.
On the occasion, CEO of alfaTKG India, Thanapandi Periasamy said that he hopes that by setting up the new development and research center, several challenges relating technology development for AI or artificial intelligence and related avenues will soon be solved.

The event was graced by Siji Baba, Japanese Consulate General for India as the guest of honour.
Director of IIT Madras was also present during the inauguration.
About collaboration between IIT Madras and Japanese firm Alfa TKG Co Ltd:
Japanese firm Alfa TKG is known for providing technological support to the manufacturing industry. The collaboration will bring industry and academics together so that they can work in areas of development and research.

During the inauguration, the President and CEO, AlfaTKG said that he feels there is a huge need for coming up and applying high technological and manufacturing process automation and optimization solutions. Keeping this in mind, they have decided to come together with top technology institutes and IT institutions.
