IIT-Madras launches ‘Premier Banker’ upskilling course to advocate financial literacy
IIT-Madras launches ‘Premier Banker’ upskilling course. Read to find about the programme and its vision.
Keeping in mind the rapid progress in the area of banking and finance, The Indian Institue of Technology, Madras’ (IIT Madras) Digital Skills Academy (DSA) has joined hands with InFact Pro, a Finance Sector Certified trainer, Chennai to come up with an upskilling programme called ‘Premier Banker’. The motive behind the programme is to provide an in-depth understanding of Banking and Finance, Digital Banking, Mutual funds along with training concerning financial health and key principles of banking and finance.
The duration of the programme is 4-6 months and it will comprise more than 250 hours of training with a plethora of questions and different assignments to enrich students for a career in the banking and financial sector. Candidates having a bachelor's degree in any discipline and undergraduate students in the second or third year of their graduation will be eligible to enroll in the programme. Past job experience in banking or financial services will be given preference. The course fee is Rs.59000 (inclusive of tax).

Prof. K. Mangala Sundar stressed the urgency of skilling and upskilling in time to leverage current market requirements.
The academy has been consistent in providing online training programmes encompassing more than 25 courses since 2018 under the supervision of the NASSCOM IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council. DSA is headed by Shri. Lakshmi Narayanan, the founder CEO of Cognizant Technology Solutions, and Prof. M. S. Ananth, the former Director at IIT Madras.
