IIT Madras vs Kanpur vs Kharagpur Placements 2024-25: Placement season for 2024-25 has just begun at IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Kharagpur. They all have their strong points and attract the best recruiters. It’s impressive that this year IIT Madras has set such a high benchmark with an impressive highest package by a trading firm of Rs 4.3 crores to a computer science student.
IIT Madras reported a record breaking highest package of INR 4.3 crore. A big offer comes from Jane Street, one of America’s top Wall Street trading firms. The early placement data indicates that roughly 1,091 students were placed during the ongoing season.
Day 1 saw strong performance from IIT Kharagpur too. It got 750 offers, including pre placement offers. At Kharagpur, the highest package was INR 2.14 crore, with a lot of action from the big league companies like Apple and Google.
On its opening day, IIT Kanpur recorded 579 offers, including 13 international placements. This shows that its graduates are well known globally. The recruitment process was active from major companies such as Microsoft and Texas Instruments, American Express, etc. This is an obvious indication of the commitment to give students the necessary skills that are recognised globally.
When you look at these statistics, think about the various sectors represented within the offers. At IIT Madras, core engineering roles are dominant, while at Kharagpur and Kanpur, software and analytics roles are highly valued.
