IIT Patna Hosts its 7th Convocation Ceremony
The Indian Institute of Technology Patna recently conducted its 7th convocation ceremony. During the convocation, 4 students received Gold Medals, with Ashish Raj receiving 3 different medals for being the best performer.
The Indian Institute of Technology Patna hosted its convocation ceremony. 335 students of different disciplines were conferred with the degrees. Out of 335 students, 191 students were from the B.Tech programme,78 students were from M.Tech programme, 26 students were from the M.Sc programme and the remaining 40 students were from PhD programmes.
During the convocation, four students received gold medals in various disciplines. Among the categories, from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Ashish Raj has received President of India Gold Medal, while Tarun Garg received the Chairman’s, Gold Medal. From the postgraduate level, Zufishan Haque of M.Tech programme received Chairman’s Gold Medal and from the M.Sc programme, Mansi has received the Aryabhatta Gold medal.
Along with receiving the President of India Gold Medal, Ashish Raj had also been bestowed the Shri Kedar Nath Das Memorial Award along with a ₹10,000 cash prize. These were awarded to him for his excellence in overall performance as well as the leadership and the organisational skills that he had displayed during his stay at the college.
The four students who were honoured with gold medals, Ashish Raj, Abhishek Singh, Shivam Tiwari, Divyanshu Khandelwal and Nipon Gupta were awarded Silver Medals for B.Tech programmes along with Mansi, Sonali Jana as well as Alok Mahanta for M.Sc programmes. While for M.Tech programmes at the college, Aakash, Zufishan Haque and Kumar Anjneyal were honoured with silver medals.

Along with the medals and the degrees that were granted to the students of IIT Patna, 6 students from the undergraduate engineering programmes along with 9 students from the postgraduate engineering programmes were presented ₹5,000 and ₹7,000 cash prize accordingly for presenting projects in their departments.

With another batch of aspiring engineers being conferred medals and degrees, IIT Patna starts its new journey with the next batch of students, motivating and guiding them to achieve great heights like Ashish Raj and Zufishan Haque, who were the top performers of their batch.
