When the fourth-year student of IIT Roorkee Nishchay Budhiraja cracked the Common Admission Test (CAT) securing cent per cent marks, he felt his one of the childhood dreams have finally come true.
The twenty-one-year-old always wanted to become a management graduate, and that too, from Indian Institute of Management belonging to the top league. He is one among the few students in the Indian subcontinent and the first one from Uttarakhand who has achieved this feat.
When answering the questions from the press reporters, the excited Nishchay, stated,"It was indeed a dream to crack the entrance and get a chance to study at an IIM. I am targeting IIM Ahmedabad. If I don't get it, then my preference would be either IIM Bangalore or IIM Calcutta."
When asked how he prepared to get through the examination the topper from New Delhi answered, “I had joined the coaching institute Career Launcher in January last year and took mock tests every week and analyzed them regularly. I feel that more than studying hard, cracking CAT is all about studying smart as at the end of the day, CAT is nothing else but an aptitude test."
Nishchay is the only son to his parents. While his mother, Ranjana works as the vice-principal of a government school located in New Delhi, his father, Neelesh works as a start-up business. Talking about his hobbies and achievements, the youngster said that he was a fan of the badminton. In addition, he even loves to travel and hang around with his friends. "While preparing to bell the CAT, I took out time for things that rejuvenate me as well. I religiously studied for two hours a day and took one mock test per week. Recreation is quite important to keep the mind fresh and perform to one's optimum capacity."
