IIT Students to be the Winners of Microsoft Contest

Microsoft India hosts an annual event every year to provide students a competitive hands-on hacking experience. The national level hacking contest - Build the Shield 2016. Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee bagged first and second positions while Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai stood third.
This year, more than 300 teams and over 1,200 students participated in the online qualifiers held in January 2016. Of these, 50 teams were shortlisted for the national finale in Hyderabad. The contest built on Microsoft's Azure platform aims to help budding technologists develop skills to tackle both offensive and defensive security issues, interact, engage with emerging security tools, and experiment in a dynamic, collaborative, community-driven environment. Winners of the grand finale received pre-placement interview offers from Microsoft, in addition to exciting goodies like Microsoft Xbox One, Windows Phones and Laptops.
