IITR and TERI Collaborate for Energy and Sustainability Related Issues
Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee has collaborated with TERI-The Energy and Resources Institute, New Delhi to work in the areas of renewable energy, climate change, water management etc.
IIT Roorkee and TERI-The Energy and Resources Institute, New Delhi have signed an MoU for collaboration in the areas of energy, renewable energy, climate change, water management, sustainable habitat, sustainable environment, food, and environment.
The MoU will help in capacity building activities and there will be events regarding public policy and action in the fields of energy access, energy transition and its efficiency, green buildings, sustainable cities, renewable energy, sustainable transport, sustainable land use, waste management, air quality, sustainable land use, climate science and policy, waste management, resource efficiency and security.
IITR hopes that the partnership with TERI will lead to increased use of the intellectual resources of the institute, which is the faculty and the students, for addressing challenges concerning energy faced by the developing nations and especially India.
The Director-General of TERI, Dr. Ajay Mathur said it is a big achievement for TERI to collaborate with IITR as this arrangement will help in improving the research and academic collaborations in the fields of environment, energy, and natural resources.
