IIT Kharagpurto organise a startup camp at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) to be held from January 8.
The camp has the aim to decrease the communication gap between :
* Students and entrepreneurs.
* Allow startups to recruit the finest talent among the GES participants.
* A chance for the future entrepreneurs to meet some of the biggest venture capital and investors in India.
"In 2015, the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT-Kharagpur went on an entrepreneurship awareness drive, a pan-India initiative to spread entrepreneurship across 22 cities in India. Nearly 30,000 people participated in this drive that had speakers like Ridam Desai, MD, Morgan Stanley, Ashish Chauhan, CEO, Bombay Stock Exchange, Satya Prabhakar, CEO and founder, Sulekha.com and Ashok Soota, chairman, Happiest Mind Technologies. The GES is the flagship event of the Entrepreneurship Cell. It will be one of the biggest entrepreneurial platforms for academicians, new-age entrepreneurs, eminent business personalities, venture capitalists and students to gather and share their entrepreneurial endeavours and experiences and pledge to take entrepreneurship in India to greater scales," said Shivam Kankani, junior associate, Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kharagpur.
The camp is to hold guest lectures and workshops focused on improving the entrepreneurial skills of the participants by companies like BSE, Vmware, Calcutta Angels, Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Flipkart, Amazon Web Services and Deloitte. The previous editions of GES had stalwarts like Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, Suneet Singh Tuli, founder of Aakash Tablet, Dominique Trempont, serial entrepreneur and associate of the Late Steve Jobs, Sramana Mitra, Forbes columnist and Silicon Valley entrepreneur, Harish Hande, renowned social entrepreneur, Nachiket Mor, former deputy manager of ICICI Bank and Sanjeev Bhickchandani, founder, Naukri.com as speakers.
"The Global Entrepreneurship Conference, the only one of its kind, will serve as a conclave for discussion of opportunities and programs aimed towards promoting entrepreneurship in various universities across the world.The conference will be followed by Connect the Dots, a discussion among Entrepreneurship Cells in India about the Indian scenario and how best to go about promoting entrepreneurship in their respective campuses," Kankani added.
