IITs Should Not Worry about Rankings: IITB Director
The IITB Director who is also an Alumni of IITK addressed the audience during the 69th foundation day of IIT Kharagpur said that the IITs should focus more on development on flexibility with alumni and faculty affairs and should not care much about rankings.
The director of Indian Institute of Technology - IIT Bombay director Mr. Subhasis Chaudhuri addressed the audience during the 69th Foundation Day of IIT Kharagpur. He said that the IITs across India should not care about the rankings. He suggested that as long as its alumni and faculties are performing well, there is no need to care much about the rankings as the achievements will speak for itself.
Mr. Subhasis Chaudhuri, who is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology - IIT Kharagpur, on Sunday, 18th August said that he feels a need for IITs to be more flexible about rules and encourage students to focus more innovation. He further said that ranking should not come in the way of innovation
According to Chaudhuri, the main focus of IITs should be creating entrepreneurs, new companies, jobs, bridging the gap with the industry and connect with society for the greater good.
He exclaimed confidently exclaimed that what IITs are doing will be justified until the alumni and faculties are performing their best.

19 alumni of IIT Kharagpur were awarded 'The Young Alumni Achievers Awards' by the institute to recognize their contributions and achievements in various sectors. The awards were conferred to recognize the achievements in the sectors of entrepreneurship, civic and law enforcement activities, film-making, public welfare service, academia, and research. Founder of Swiggy and Redbus were among the recipients of the award.

It is expected that the student, alumni, and faculties present on the occasion will get inspired by the speech of the IITB Director and will focus on innovation and society along with their personal goals.
