Impact of CUCET 2022 on Delhi University Admission
Delhi University Admission through CUCET 2022 can change the traditional approach of cut-off marks from 2022-23 sessions. Candidates must read this news about the impact CUCET 2022 on DU Admission.
Delhi University admissions this year will be considered based on the CUCET score. Delhi University has agreed to take admissions through Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) 2022 for the academic session 2022-2023. The National Testing Agency (NTA) established by the Government of India is responsible for conducting CUCET examinations for all the participating universities. As per the notification released on January 31, a panel has been appointed to look after the admission through CUCET 2022. The Delhi University has been traditionally releasing cut-offs for individual colleges and courses which will be replaced by common entrance tests for the entire university. A detailed guideline is expected to be released by the concerned authorities in times to come. A four-member committee will look into the admission process of Indian nationals while a seven-member panel is constituted to oversee the admission process of foreign nationals.
The admission process for Delhi University is likely to see a new dimension from this academic session with the implementation of CUCET. According to authorities, it will impact the DU admission process in a positive manner. The cut-offf marks released by Delhi University goes upto 100 % for certain courses in many colleges. The marking system of different state boards, CBSE, and ICSE are different and hence even students who obtain 95-96 % in certain boards are not able to take admission to good colleges of Delhi University. CUCET will give a fair chance to all the students to be part of different colleges of Delhi University.
However, the youth brigade of Congress, National Students Union of India (NSUI) also announced that they will stage protests against CUCET and will let students know about the demerits of CUCET 2022. They further mentioned that they will do events and seminars to create awareness among students. According to NSUI, this is anti-poor students as they will not be able to afford coaching classes to prepare for entrance examinations. The critics, however, will be there for any new system that gets implemented. The option of taking admission through CUCET may prove beneficial for meritorious students and one must wait till the final guidelines are out. It is expected that the colleges along with the scorecard of CUCET will also take into account the minimum eligibility criteria set for taking admissions to different colleges of Delhi University.
