Important instructions to be followed after JoSAA Seat Allotment 2024

JoSAA Seat Allotment 2024 Important Instructions: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is conducting IIT, NIT, IIIT, and GFTI counselling in five rounds this year, unlike the six rounds until 2023. JoSAA seat allotment 2024 for each round is to be released on June 20 (out), June 27, July 4, July 10, and July 17 respectively. After each round of counselling, the candidate must follow certain instructions to either confirm the seat or move to the next counselling round(s). Failure to do so will result in the candidate being disqualified from all counselling rounds and his/her current allocation being cancelled.

Important instructions after JoSAA Seat Allotment 2024

After the seat allotment result for each counselling round is declared, the candidates must complete all the steps of “Online Reporting” as per the schedule. Important instructions regarding the same are as follows:

Step 1: Seat Acceptance

After downloading the Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip, the candidates who were allotted a seat must accept the same. They shall choose between three seat acceptance options: Freeze, Float, and Slide.

Step 2: Document Upload

Candidates shall upload all the required documents as available in Annexure 3 of JoSAA information brochure 2024. The complete list can be downloaded here: JoSAA 2024 Documents to be Uploaded after Allotment.  All scanned copies of the documents shall be as per the given format and file size. The documents shall not be blurred. The text must be easily readable or it may lead to the rejection of documents, followed by seat allocation and counselling eligibility.

Step 3: Seat Acceptance Fee Payment

Regardless of the Freeze/Float/Slide option chosen, the candidates must pay Rs 35,000/- (Rs 17,500/- for SC/ST/PwD) as the seat acceptance fee. If payment is not made, it will be treated as seat rejection by the candidate. Hence, the current seat allocation will be cancelled and the candidate will be disqualified.

JoSAA processing fee in it will be Rs 5,000/- while the remaining will be adjusted against the institute fees at the time of admission.

The deadlines for fee payment are:

• Round 1: June 24, 5 PM
• Round 2: July 1, 5 PM
• Round 3: July 8, 5 PM
• Round 4: July 15, 5 PM
• Round 5: July 22, 5 PM

Methods to pay fees: Debit card / UPI / Credit card / Net Banking / E-Challan.

Step 4: Respond to Queries

If there is any error or clarification required for a document at the time of verification, JoSAA officers will raise queries in the candidate login. It is mandatory for the candidates to respond to the queries in time. If not done, the current allocation will be cancelled and the candidate will be barred from further participation in the counselling.

It is important to note that no imitation of email or text will be given if a query is raised. The candidates must check their candidate portal diligently until the deadline.

The deadlines for responding to queries are:

• Round 1: June 26, 5 PM
• Round 2: July 3, 5 PM
• Round 3: July 9, 5 PM
• Round 4: July 16, 5 PM
• Round 5: July 23, 5 PM
