Indian Degrees will Receive Equivalency in UAE

The United Arab Emirates have stated that Indian Degrees will be receiving equivalency. Some of the Indian Degrees were denied equivalency for lack of clarity on the definition of internal and external. UAE Education Ministry has approved for equivalency after clarification of these terms from UGC.

As per the press release, Indian degrees will now receive equivalency in UAE. The Indian Degrees that meet the criteria will be attaining the equivalency. This step taken by the UAE government has brought a sigh of relief for the Indians who have migrated to the Gulf country for their jobs, which now will be easier after the Indian degrees receive the equivalency.

A discussion had taken place between Navdeep Singh Suri, the Indian Ambassador and the education minister of UAE, Hussain Bin Ibrahim recently. They discussed the problems that are faced by the Indian Nationals since some of the Indian degrees had been denied equivalency due to lack of clarity in the definition of internal and external marks, it stated.

The Indian degrees will now receive the equivalency by the Ministry of Education of the UAE if they meet all the other equivalency criteria, stated the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi in the press release.

The University Grants Commission had provided the Education Ministry with an Action Plan for Academic Reforms which provided them with the clarification of the word external, which meant the mode of evaluation of marks instead of the place of study. The Ministry of Education of the UAE has stated that they are working on the applications. They will be reviewing the applications and the equivalency letters will be issued after the degrees qualify the equivalency criteria.
