Indian Economy Failed to Provide Enough Jobs: Infosys Co-Founder Gopalakrishnan
He concluded that the new and emerging technologies like the ‘Internet of Things’ are going to change the world in next 30-50 years
Addressing the students at 62nd Convocation of IIT Kharagpur,Mr. Gopalakrishnan, Co-Founder of Infosys said that the Indian economy has been developing in a drastic way but it has failed to generate a better number of employment opportunities. The world has been facing income disparity since 2008. However, India has been less affected by this problem.

He mentioned that despite development in economy, a large number of good and well-paying jobs are not being created. The government needs to find a solution for this problem. Development of Service Sector plays a major role in the generation of employment opportunities and this has to be taken up.

He also enlightened the students regarding the harmful effects of technology. Technology must be used in a positive way which leads to the development of the country. Citing an example of Driverless Vehicles, he said that these vehicles must be with proper safeguards. If these vehicles are used in a destructive manner they may cause harmful immense.
He concluded that the new and emerging technologies like the ‘Internet of Things’ are going to change the world in next 30-50 years.
The 62nd convocation of IIT Kharagpur was held in a grand manner. Around 298 research scholars were awarded Ph.D. degrees. The institute has also felicitated seven distinguished alumni of the college.
