Indian Institutes Awarded 7.5 Million Bachelor in Science and Engineering Degrees in 2014: Report
- According to the annual Science and Engineering Indicators Report 2018, India stands first in the list with the highest number of B.Sc and B.Tech graduates.

According to the annual Science and Engineering Indicators Report 2018, Indian universities and colleges awarded over 7.5 billion Bachelors in Engineering and Science degrees in 2014. At the global level, India topped the list with the highest number of B.Sc and B.Tech graduates. The United States (US) topped the list in Research and Development spending. As per the report, China has been constantly evincing good improvement in Science and Technology.
Even though the US topped in Science and Technology (S&T), the global share of S&T activities of the US is declining, whereas the contribution of China is improving in the S&T domain.

According to the report, the share of US publications and citations had increased from 47% to 56% (2004-14). The report stated that the United States plays a dominant role in attracting venture capital. Similarly, US is the largest producer in advanced technology manufacturing sectors.
Japan, European Union and the US are playing an overridden role in medical and biological sciences, while China and India are focusing on engineering, indicated by the report.
