Indian Students made the Country Proud in Global Aerospace Competition
Many prestigious universities from various nations participated in this competition and the students of India made the country proud by bagging the first position.
Team Astral from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, grabbed the first position in the CanSat Competition 2016 which was conducted in Europe and Asia recently. These competitions are conducted on various themes related to space. The competition under CanSat- 2016 was organized by American Astronautical Society and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The competition was held at Texas, Burkett and the USA in which students from 73 countries participated.
Team Astral comprises the students of Electronics, Compter Science, Material Science, Aerospace Engineering and design studies explained about the working of CanSat system. The explanations were made based on the stated guidelines. These explanations were highly appreciated by the members of NASA, AIAA, and AAS. The annual sponsor to the competition is NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory which is also involved in the evaluation process. The team has achieved the first position under the guidance of Dr. Ugur Guven and Prof. Zozimus Labana.
The School of Design Studies of University has designed the glider for the CanSat system and it is 3D printed. Many prestigious universities from various nations participated in this competition and the students of India made the country proud by bagging the first position. Various Universities like Princeton, Manchester, Carleton, University of Alabama-Huntsville and many others took part in the competition.
