Information on AICTE Approved Vocational Courses Provided by MoS HRD

Mahendra Nath Pandey, Minister of State of MHRD shared information regarding the vocational training courses that are approved and run by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In reply to a question that was raised in the Lok Sabha, the minister wrote a letter that provided information of all AICTE run courses.

Pandey also shed light on the fact that the courses being run by AICTE comprise of the Community College scheme that is offered in Engineering and Polytechnic Institutions that are AICTE approved. Details of the Community College scheme are provided on the official website of AICTE.
The minister also cleared that the AICTE approved technical institutions including engineering colleges and polytechnic colleges have also started implementing Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) from the session 2016-17. With the implementation of this scheme, nearly 10 lakhs youth will be able to learn the engineering skills within next three years.

In his letter of response to the Lok Sabha, Pandey also mentioned that all the vocational courses being offered at polytechnic colleges approved by the AICTE also fall in line with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). He also stated that the courses have been designed by the Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) that have experts from the industry and other representatives from different sectors.
There is no course on Internet of Things (IoT) provided by the AICTE approved institutes as there are no experts available in the Institutes to cultivate knowledge regarding the subject.
