Institute of Rail Transport Admissions 2019, Apply by April 30

The Institute of Rail Transport (IRT) has invited applications from the aspirants for the admission in various courses offered by the institute for the academic session 2019-20. IRT offers three major one-year diploma courses. IRT offers various courses in correspondence or distance mode. The application procedure has begun and the last date to apply April 30th, 2019. At present, IRT has opened the admissions for Diploma in Transport Economics and Management.
Courses Offered by Institute of Rail Transport
The Institute of Rail Transport offers the following one-year Diploma courses -
- Rail Transport and Management (May-June)
- Transport Economics and Management (January-February)
- Multimodal Transport (Containerization) and Logistics Management (March-April)
These courses ensure the overall development of students, and the same are boon to fresh graduates. Apart from the above courses, IRT offers a two-year Diploma Course in Port Development and Management.
IRT Course Fees
The IRT fee structure for Diploma courses can be checked below -
- Rail Transport and Management - Rs. 7,000
- Transport Economics and Management - Rs. 7,000
- Multimodal Transport and Logistics Management - Rs. 7,000
IRT Eligibility Criteria
The aspiring candidates must fulfil certain eligibility criteria. They must have a three-year diploma from a recognized institute. Relaxation is offered to the government employees and armed personnel (working or retired).

IRT Admission Procedure
The aspiring candidates are required to obtain the prospectus from the Institute by paying an amount of Rs 150 or post sending a demand draft of Rs 200 in favour of the Institute of Rail Transport. The prospectus also acts as the admission form for the students.
These are the following steps which should be followed :
- The candidates are required to visit the official website of the Institute of Rail Transport.
- One should click on the link for Online Registration on the homepage of the website
- The candidate is redirected to a new webpage.
- Then one should click on the Online Registration Form
- The candidates are then required to fill the online form
- They are needed to make the necessary payments
- The candidates can download the prospectus after the necessary payment is done
