Institutes that Require JEE Advanced Rank for Admissions

As per the official schedule, JEE Advanced 2017 examination will take place on May 21, 2017. The engineering entrance examination will be conducted in two papers and the candidates will need to apply for the examination separately. The candidates who aspire to seek admissions in the Indian Institutes of Technology, popularly known as IITs and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore or IISc have to clear both JEE Mains and JEE Advanced examination.

Apart from IITs and IISc Bangalore, JEE Advanced score is also required to seek admission in Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), IIST or Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology as well as IISERs or Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs). The candidates who clear JEE Advanced examination can secure admission in various courses offered by the above-mentioned institutes.

The applicants must understand that National Institutes of Technology (NITs) do not require JEE Advanced score. Therefore, the candidates who are targeting admissions in NITs need to clear JEE Mains examination with a good rank.

The aspirants of JEE Mains examination need to note that Odisha, Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh etc. have joined the JEE Mains systems. These states will not hold a separate entrance examination for the admission to UG engineering courses.

The online registration process for JEE Mains 2017 examination concluded on January 16, 2017. The examination is scheduled to take place on April 2, 2017. The candidates who clear JEE Mains 2017 and are seeking admissions in IITs, IISc, IISERs and IIST will have one and a half months to prepare for JEE Advanced 2017 examination.
