According to the official placement report of IIT Madras, the following companies are the top recruiters: -
- Intel
- Eaton
- Cognizant Technology Solutions
- Samsung R&D
- Citicorp
The number of start-ups that took place in campus placements this year is not satisfactory. Only 53 start-ups visited the campus and hired the students. Last year, 139 start-ups took part in the campus placements.
Since several start-ups failed to keep their promise, regarding the job offers earlier, IIT Madras has been more cautious in inviting the start-ups to campus placements. This is one of the reasons for the decline in the number of start-ups participated in campus placements this year. The students who were not able to get into start-ups last year got the chance to take part in placements this year.
Even though there were fewer start-ups this year, several renowned companies like Intel and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) took part in placements and offered a sufficient number of jobs. However, there were some top IT companies that did not visit the campus this year.
