Iran Diplomats Visit GITAM to Strengthen Academic Ties
- Top officials of Iran Embassy visited GITAM Visakhapatnam on February 21, 2018.
- The officials appreciated the infrastructural facilities of the institute and encouraged academic collaboration.
With a target to strengthen academic ties, top officials from embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited GITAM (deemed-to-be university) on February 20, 2018. The Iran diplomats visited engineering and science departments of GITAM and appreciated the advanced infrastructural facilities of the institute.
The Iran officials interacted with the Vice Chancellor of GITAM, Professor MS Prasad Rao. During the interaction, GITAM VC explained about the admission process and ongoing research activities at GITAM. He also mentioned that the varsity featured in THE World Rankings. NAAC accredited GITAM with A+ grade, which is the top recognition for the deemed universities in India, he added.

Research Counsellor of Iran, Professor S Mohammad Reza Khalili stated that over 4,000 Iran students are visiting India annually to pursue higher studies. He further pointed that GITAM is one of the best deemed institutes in South India for Iran students to pursue technology-related courses.
International Students Wing Director, Mr. KP Kishan coordinated the visit and interactive session. The Iran diplomats also visited labs, hostels and other facilities prevalent on the campus.

GITAM has begun the registration process for GAT 2018 (GITAM Admission Test). Candidates aspiring to join B.Tech, M.Tech and B.Pharma course in GITAM will have to appear for the entrance test. March 26, 2018, is the deadline to register for GAT 2018. The exam will be conducted in 55 centres across the country from April 11 to April 26, 2018.
