ISB and SAP Launch New Programme for Social Entrepreneurs
Indian School of Business (ISB), along with multinational software corporation SAP, has introduced a new programme called the Jumpstart Social Enterprise Programme.
Indian School of Business (ISB) and multinational software corporation SAP, has introduced a new programme called the Jumpstart Social Enterprise Programme. The programme aims at nurturing the “social entrepreneurship ecosystem with the focus on national priorities”.
SAP helps companies and industries to run better and more efficiently. In association with ISB, SAP intends to identify five social enterprise startups in India, which will later be mentored by prominent entrepreneurs. The programme will also enable them to access all other networks and enable them to work in a smart manner with the right kind of training.

Applicants intending to avail the programme must go through a selection process to qualify for the preliminary stage. Experts from ISB, SAP and others in the startup ecosystem will scrutinise their request.
Two selected candidates from each social enterprise will be given an opportunity to attend two residency modules- one boot camp at SAP and ISB.The candidates will also get the chance to show off their new and innovative projects to various angel investors and venture capitalists.
Through the Jumpstart Social Innovation Programme, SAP and ISB hope to bring their expertise to the table so they can increase it to a much wider entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Managing Director of SAP Labs India said that their objective is to create investible and growth-oriented social enterprises so that they address unmet social needs and create employment opportunities significantly. They would provide mentorship and connect them to technology experts to stimulate the growth of the social enterprises.
Rajendra Srivastava, Dean of ISB said that entrepreneurship is core to ISB’s DNA and their focus on engendering a spirit of entrepreneurship among students is showing success. They are now extending this spirit of the enterprise beyond their students to help other startups in the social enterprise space by leveraging their partnerships and the startup ecosystem at ISB.
