ISC Result: Lucknow Boy Scores 100 in Maths; Fulfills Father’s Last Wish
- Kanpur’s Anmol Srivastava fulfilled his father’s last wish and appeared for his Maths exams only after few hours of his demise.
- Anmol not only secured a perfect hundred in ISC mathematics exam but also cleared JEE Mains 2018.
It was a trying time for Anmol Srivastava when he had to bid his father farewell just hours before his class 12 mathematics exam. The pressure of exams for him was all but dissolved in grief on the morning of February 26, the day of his maths exam, when Anmol’s father passed away due to a heart attack.
Despite the extreme emotional trauma and sudden ripple in his life, Anmol not just appeared for the mathematics exam on February 26, he went with the determination to do well. It was the last wish of Anmol’s father, Ajay Kumar Srivastava that his son appears for his exam with unwavering fervor even if he dies.
Anmol drew strength from his father’s last wish and passed the exam with flying colours. He scored a perfect 100 in the ISC class 12 mathematics exam as well as an aggregate of 98.25%. He also scored 100 marks in physical education and computer science along with 95 in chemistry, 97 in physics and 93 in English.
When asked about how he faced what would have been the biggest challenge in his life, the boy replied he was all but prepared to quit his mathematics exam as the grief was acute for him. He cried a lot and was in no position to write the exam but his mother told him of his father’s last wish. His father had said that his last rites could wait but Anmol must not skip his exam. Dutifully, Anmol obliged.

He was sitting next to his father’s body at 10 am on the day of the exam and had to report for the exam at noon. Whatever he had studied during his preparation was forgotten in grief and he had only 2 hours to reach, City Montessori School, Kanpur road branch, said the young achiever.
Anmol recalled the day of the exam and said that the pain he went through cannot be put into words. He also added that it was his father’s blessings that helped him write the paper that day.
When he came home after his exam, he cried inconsolably, his mother reported. As the day had passed, they had to perform his father’s rites on February 27. Next day Anmol had to appear for the English exam.
Anmol has also qualified JEE Mains and is looking forward to cracking JEE Advanced. It was his father’s dream that he pursued B.Tech in Computer Science after class 12, he added. Anmol has an elder brother who is also pursuing B.Tech.

For now, his family and all those who stood by his side are celebrating his success. Anmol thanked all his teachers, his maternal uncle and neighbours for helping him in the most difficult times in his life.
