ISRO Begins Young Scientist Program for Class 9 Students
ISRO launched a Young Scientist Programme or otherwise known as Yuva Vigyani Karyakram in order to inculcate an interest in space education. The programme is set to train more than 100 students from all over India.
ISRO has launched a Young Scientist Programme for class 9th students. The program will allow the students to gain basic knowledge of space technologies, space applications and space science. The ISRO has unveiled the programme to inculcate an interest in the industry of space programmes. Through the programme, says the chairman of ISRO K. Shivan, the students will be able to gain the experience and knowledge that they would need to build a satellite.
ISRO plans to give the students from class 9 and onwards with residential training on the subject during their summer holidays. The programme is intended to carry on for the duration of two weeks. As of now, they have planned to take three students per state and Union territories who study under the ICSE, CBSE and other state board education. Those students who have recently finished their education of the 8th standard and will enter the 9th standard are also eligible for the programme.

ISRO Young Scientist Programme Eligibility Criteria
There are a few seats left for the ISRO Young Scientist Programme and the registration for the same will be done in online mode. Students who have just completed 9th clASS in the academic year 2018-19 and will join 10th-grade or have already done the same will be eligible for registration. The selection of the candidate will be done on the basis of 8th standard academic performance and extracurricular activities.

How to Apply for ISRO Young Scientist Programme?
To apply for ISRO Young Scientist Programme students will first be required to register for the same on the official website of ISRO. The list of provisionally selected candidates from each state will be released on 6th April 2019. The provisionally selected candidates will have to send the attested copies of the relevant certificates via E-mail. After verifying the relevant certificates the final selection list will be announced on 13th April 2019.
