For this purpose, the ministry will set up a separate board on the lines of ICSE and CBSE that will award certificates. The board will award certificates at par with those awarded to students who clear Class 10 & Class 12 from regular boards. The certificate awarded by a separate board to ITI graduates will help them take up regular courses in other schools and colleges.
According to sources, National Council for Vocational Training will conduct academic examination and certification for Class 10 & Class 12 for the ITI students. However, the formal announcement of the approved proposal has to come from the centre. Once the proposal is formalised, everything will go according to the process planned.
