JMI's Position in QS Ranking Stays Same, Improves in THE Subject Rankings

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has remained its position in the coveted QS World University Rankings for the third consecutive year. The Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings were released for the year 2021 and Jamia Millia Islamia is still on the position at which it has been for the last two years. Despite the increase in the number of universities being ranked by QS this year, Jamia Millia Islamia has retained its rank at 751 - 800.

The 15th position has been given to JMI among other Indian institutions which include the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Jamia was placed at the 6th position among all the universities in India.

In the London based THE (Times Higher Education) Subject Ranking 2020, Jamia Millia Islamia has scaled high in the category of Engineering and Technology. The university has improved its position from last year’s ranking of 601 - 800 to a place in 401 - 500 this year, making it a jump of 200 ranks. Within India, the rank of JMI is 11 among all the higher education institutions while it is at the 2nd position among all the universities.

Rank of Jamia Millia Islamia in Computer Science

JMI has made it to the list of the top institutions in the world for computer science. The university has achieved this feat for the first time after being placed at 501 - 600 in the THE Subject Rankings. Among the Indian institutions, Jamia has been given the 16th position and is placed at the 7th rank among all Indian universities.

In the category of Life Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia has been ranked at 401 - 500 worldwide. The university is placed at 7th rank among the institutions of India and at the 4th rank among the universities.

Rank of Jamia Millia Islamia in Physical science

The position of JMI has improved in the subject category of Physical Science from 601 - 800 of last year to 501 - 600 this year, making it a jump of 100 positions. Within India, JMI stands at the 15th rank among all higher education institutions and has secured the 3rd rank in the university category.
