Jamia Millia Islamia Signs MoUs with NGOs to Support Families of Soldiers
JMI signed MoUs with Arunodaya Seva Sansthan and Veer Nari Shakti Foundation to provide self-employment opportunity to martyr widows, war widows etc. The MoUs will also enable JMI to roll out skill development programmes for the weaker sections of the society.
Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Jamia Millia Islamia has signed MoUs (Memorandums of Understanding) with Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) with an aim to develop sustainable livelihood models and programmes for families of soldiers killed on duty. The varsity has signed MoUs with two NGOs namely Arunodaya Seva Sansthan and Veer Nari Shakti Resettlement Foundation.
The MoUs will enable collaborative training and exchange between the three partnering institutes. CIE will organise training programmes for the participants from both NGOs under EDP programmes. Similarly, CIE will provide training to families of martyr from both the Paramilitary Forces and Armed Forces so that they can become self-employable.

Veer Nari Shakti Foundation is a popular NGO that works for the welfare of battle causality, wife and dependents of war disabled, martyr widows, war widows, disabled serving Defence Personnel and veterans of Paramilitary Forces and Indian Armed Forces across Nepal and India. The NGO supports such families to run group businesses as per their skills and attitude. In all, the NGO helps these families to generate a dignified livelihood.
Arunodaya Seva Sansthan is another NGO that work for the welfare and empowerment of underprivileged children, women and youth through relevant education and market focused livelihood programmes. So far, the NGO has been successful in implementing various skill development and women empowerment programmes.

JMI signed MoUs with Arunodaya Seva Sansthan and Veer Nari Shakti Foundation on July 23, 2018. The MoUs will also enable JMI to roll out skill development programmes for the weaker sections of the society.
