Expecting the threats by Jat groups to strengthen their agitations this week, The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued an advisory on March 18, 2017, stating that students who are going to appear for Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations on March 20, 2017, need to reach the examination centre before time.

The board advised the parents to take required measures to reach the examination centre before the scheduled time to avoid delay. There might be an inconvenience due to protest by Jats. Therefore, it is better to reach exam centre in advance than the exact time.

The management of various schools also advised the parents to take their children to the examination centre before the scheduled time as there might be a blockade of the highway by Jats. The students of Class 12 are going to take the third paper on March 20, 2017.

Similarly, principals of various schools have cancelled excursions, which had been scheduled for this week. One of the principals revealed that they have cancelled excursions keeping in mind the threat of agitation. Usually, schools take students to museums and out of station for overnight short trips. Since there is an agitation scheduled this week, excursions have been cancelled.

The board issued an advisory note as All-India Jat Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti (AIJASS) called for a march to Delhi with an objective to block the Parliament and hold dharnas by blocking the highways.

However, for now, the protests have been halted after discussions with the Haryana CM. But, to be on a safer side, it is advised that students reach their exam centres on time.
