Javadekar Honours MP’s in Education Field on ‘Guru Poornima’
This initiative has been taken to enlighten the people that the parliament is not filled with uneducated people. It is actually filled with professionals in various fields be it education, medicine or any other professions.
HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar honoured MP’s who are in education field or connected to it on the occasion of ‘Guru Poornima’. Around 50 MP’s have been felicitated who contributed to the education field. The event took place at parliament house. Former Prime Minister, Mr. Manmohan Singh was expected to attend the event but did not turn up as he was unwell. The MP’s were honoured and given a ‘Tulasi Plant’ and a CD related to the works of Mahatma Gandhi.
This initiative has been taken to enlighten the people that the parliament is not filled with uneducated people. It is actually filled with professionals in various fields be it education, medicine or any other professions. He mentioned that several MP’s in parliament are highly educated. So, the parliament must not be projected in a negative manner.
Among the felicitated members, there was Deputy speaker of Rajya Sabha, Mr Kurien. Other members were Union Minister, Mr Jitendra Singh, Mp of Congress, Mr Karan Singh, BJP Member, Mr Subramanian Swamy and other MP’s.
Sanskrit slokas were chanted by BJP MP, Satyanarayan Jatiya. The wishes for new HRD Minister was conveyed by Mr Karan Singh. It is really a great initiative taken by the HRD Minister.
