Here’s a step-by-step guide to understanding the JEE Advanced counselling process:
JEE Advanced 2017 Results
- The results for JEE Advanced will be declared on Sunday, June 11, 2017 10:00 IST. Category‐wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available on the online portal after the result announcement. Candidates will receive text messages on their registered mobile numbers.
- Individual rank cards will not be sent to candidates.
JEE Advanced 2017 Online Counselling
- Registration: Visit the JEE (Advanced) Online Counselling portal. Candidates have to register their roll number (mentioned in JEE Advanced 2017 Admit Card) and also Registration Number, Date of Birth.
- Choice Filling:
- Applicants must fill the choice of courses and branches as per their preferences before the last date.
- Candidates can change/modify//delete/add new choices before the final locking of the choices.
- In case, candidates forget to lock the choices, it will be locked automatically by default. (Candidates are advised to fill and lock as many choices as possible for programmes).
- Counselling and seat allotment will be done based on candidates' JEE Advanced 2017 All India Ranks.
- Seat Allotment:
- The seats across IITs, NITs, IIITs and other Govt. Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) will be allocated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
- The schedule of the joint seat allocation will be announced separately by JoSAA 2017.
- JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment will be done in 6 rounds.
- At the end of every round or counselling/seat allotment, the candidates are required to check the seat allotment result.
- During the seat allotment procedure, candidates must get the soft copy of their category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/NCL) verified.
- In order to provisionally freeze/book their allotted seats after the allotment has happened, the candidates must pay the required fee online.
Note: Qualifying in JEE Advanced (2017), filling up choices and/or participating in the seat allocation process do not guarantee admission in IITs. Admission also depends on the number of vacant seats during various rounds of seat allocation.
Documents Required
- JEE Advanced 2017 Seat Allotment letter from JoSAA portal,
- JEE Advanced 2017 Original Admit card,
- JEE Advanced 2017 Application Form (duly filled),
- Duly filled Medical Examination Report,
- Proof of Date of Birth: Class X/HSC/Birth Certificate/Any other certificate as proof of date of birth,
- Class XII/SSC/Equivalent exam Mark sheet and Certificate of passing,
- Category Certificate (OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/PwD/DS) issued by the competent authority,
- For foreign nationals: Attested photocopy of the page in the passport containing name, photo and nationality.
