Aman Bansal from Jaipur, Rajasthan has topped the JEE Advanced 2016. The second and third positions have been secured by Bhavesh Dhingar (Yamuna Nagar) and Kunal Goyal (Jaipur) respectively.
It is important to note that the rank of the candidates who have scored the same marks in the exam will be evaluated taking into account the candidate with more marks in Mathematics, followed by Physics. In case the candidates have secured same marks in both, the same rank will be allotted to both. Also, a separate list will be made for PwD, ST, SC candidates to determine their ranks for further admissions.

More than 1.9 lakhs students appeared for the JEE Advanced exam 2016 which was conducted on 22nd May 2016. This year, the conducting body of JEE Advanced was Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati.
The exam is conducted to offer admissions to students to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian School of Mines (IMS), Dhanbad and other government funded institutions across the country basis the scores/ ranks achieved by each applicant.
As four new IITs have come into existence from this year - in Karnataka, Goa, Chhatisgarh & Jammu, there are a total of 10,575 seats for students willing to pursue engineering courses in the prestigious institutions of the country.
