JEE Main 2017: Assam, Meghalaya and J&K Candidates don’t need Aadhaar Card

Candidates from Meghalaya, Assam and Jammu & Kashmir will be exempted from the Aadhaar Card rule and will be able to fill JEE Main 2017 application forms with other government IDs.

According to a notification released on the official website of JEE Main 2017, candidates from Meghalaya, Assam and Jammu & Kashmir will be exempted from the Aadhaar Card rule and will be able to fill JEE Main 2017 application forms even if they don’t have Aadhaar Card.

Applicants from these three states can register for JEE Mains 2017 using other valid government identity cards such as passport, bank account number, ration card, etc. and will have to opt for exam centers within their respective states only.

Candidates belonging to states other than Meghalaya, Assam and Jammu & Kashmir will have to apply for JEE Main 2017 using their Aadhaar Card. CBSE has announced on the official website that aspirants who do not possess Aadhaar will be offered exclusive assistance. Facilitation centres will be set up in each city of examination where students can get themselves enrolled for Aadhaar Card free of cost. The list of facilitation centres has been provided on the official website of JEE Mains 2017.

Students who have not received their Aadhaar Card after enrolling must enter 28 digit Aadhaar Enrolment ID mentioned on the Aadhaar enrolment slip while filling JEE Mains 2017 online application form.

Using Aadhaar Card for JEE Main 2017:

  • Students applying for the exam must enter Aadhaar number, Name, Gender and Date of Birth in the application form of JEE Main 2017 for identity authentication and verification.
  • Candidates who do not possess Aadhaar Card must file an application for Aadhaar enrolment if the candidate is entitled to obtain the Aadhaar card as per section 3 of Aadhaar Act. Candidates can then visit Aadhaar enrolment center and get themselves enrolled.
