JEE (Main) 2017 Online Exam Dates Announced
For 2017, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha, Nagaland, Gujarat and Uttarakhand have joined the JEE (Main) 2017 system for conducting engineering admissions.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for JEE (Main) 2017 online and offline examination. It is an entrance examination conducted by CBSE for the admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in IIITs, NITs and Government Funded Technical Institutions. Every year, 12-13 lakh students appear for this national-level engineering exam.
This year, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha, Nagaland, Gujarat and Uttarakhand have joined the JEE (Main) 2017 system for conducting engineering admissions. Earlier all these states carried out state level entrance examination.

This year, CBSE has also made Aadhar mandatory for the candidates applying for JEE (Main) 2017. The candidates have to enter their Aadhar number in the application form, and the server will validate the details of the candidates entered in the application form. However, the initiative taken by CBSE did not receive a positive response from some states, especially Assam. The process of issuing Aadhar card did not start in Assam.

The CBSE has also announced that it will not consider a normalised score of Class 12 marks to determine JEE Main All India Ranks.
A total number of 2,000 top rankers of JEE (Main) 2017 examination will be eligible to avail scholarships. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development. Currently, the scholarship scheme is under review, and separate instructions will be issued on same in due course of time.
