JEE Main 2023 Exam Date NOT to be released this week, confirms NTA Chief
JEE Main 2023 exam date or notification will not be declared this week, said NTA Chief, the dates have not yet been decided.
JEE Main 2023 Date: For several weeks, lakhs of JEE Main aspirants have been waiting for JEE Main exam date 2023 to be released. There are multiple speculations as to when the notification will be out or in which months the exam sessions will be conducted. In the first official confirmation from the National Testing Agency (NTA), the conducting authority of JEE Main 2023, the NTA Chief Vineet Joshi has confirmed that JEE Main 2023 notification or dates will NOT be released this week i.e., in the second week of December 2022.
“We will release the notification and dates soon, but the schedule has not yet been decided,” NTA Chief said. “So, we will not be releasing any information this week.”
This statement comes amid the demands from the students to conduct JEE Main Session 1 2023 in April instead of January. Last year’s counselling was extended as long as November and thus, allows far less time to many repeater students if the first session is held in January. If went by the pre-pandemic schedules, JEE Main Session 1 is usually held in January last week while Session 2 is held in mid-April.

One of the main reasons why JEE Main 2023 dates are being postponed is that CBSE has not yet released the date sheet for class 12th. As lakhs of students will appear for both CBSE board exam 2023 and JEE Main 2023, a clash of dates is not permissible. Also, as board exams span multiple months, NTA will not release JEE Main 2023 notification and schedule before CBSE board date sheet is confirmed. It is usually seen that JEE Main first attempt is conducted before CBSE board examination and the second attempt is conducted afterwards.
As per media reports, it is also likely that a single academic calendar will be released for JEE Main 2023, NEET 2023, and CUET UG 2023, thus avoiding any clashes and subsequent revisions that many candidates faced in the previous years.
