Day 1 and Shift 1 of JEE Main 2021 Phase 3 has been conducted on July 20 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. As per the revised exam pattern of JEE Main 2021, the question paper has 90 questions, and there is an internal choice for Numerical (NAT) questions. Out of 10 NAT questions from each section (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics), the candidates were required to answer any five questions. One of the major advantages of the NAT questions is that there is no negative marking. The officialanswer key of JEE Main July 2021 will be released within 2-3 days after the exam. On the other hand, JEE Main 2021 Phase 3 result is expected to be released within 7 days after the exam.

Some of the major highlights of JEE Main 20th July 2021 Shift 1 analysis is as follows -

  • Many students felt that the difficulty level of the paper was moderate
  • The difficulty level of Physics and Chemistry is easier than Mathematics
  • Mathematics is a bit tough and lengthy. The Mathematics section was time-consuming
  • There were 2 questions from Biomolecules
  • Organic and Inorganic Chemistry dominated the Chemistry paper
  • From Physics, each topic had at least one question
  • From Physics, there were 2 questions from Thermodynamics
  • The chemistry section had more theoretical questions 
  • Physical Chemistry questions were mostly integer-type questions
  • Mathematics section too covered Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Algebra etc.
  • 14-16 questions from each section can be considered as a good attempt
