JEE Main Paper Review Shift 2 29 January 2025: Students' Reviews

Student’s reviews on JEE Main 2025 Exam Analysis 29 January 2025 Shift 2 are available below.

  • Physics was easy and was formula-based mostly. 2 questions from Modern Physics, 1 question from Current Electricity, 2-3 questions from Electrostatics, 3 questions from Ray Optics (2 questions were doable and 1 question was tough), 1 easy question from logic gate. 1 question from Ray optics had 2 concave lens and refractive index of 1.5 was given, object distance was r/2 and distance of image was asked). 2 questions from capacitor, 1 easy question from Electromagnetism, 1 question from Mometum of Conservation where candidates were supposed to find ratio of angular momentum.
  • JEE Main 29 Jan 2025 Shift 2 Physics paper had no questions came from Rotation and Fluid Mechanics, 1 question from Centre of Mass based on collision. 1 question from Kinematics (relative motion question where there was one linear acceleration and one variable acceleration, candidates were supposed to find when the two objects would meet after t=0). 1 question from EM Waves.
  • As per students, JEE Main 29 Jan 2025 Shift 2 Physics paper had more questions from class 12th Syllabus. 4-5 statement-based questions were present in Physics as well. 1 graph-based question from Thermodynamics where adiabatic and isentropic were given and it was a simple formula based question. 1 direct simple question from Error where candidates were supposed to find percentage error. No questions were asked from Wave Optics topic.
  • Maths was moderate but lengthy due to lots of calculations. 2 questions from 3D and 2 questions from Vector, 3-4 questions from Conic Section, 2 questions from Matrices and Determinants, 1 question was there asking centroid of triangle, 2 questions from Straight Line (one direct question and 1 question mixed with another concept), 1 question from PnC (KANPUR word was supposed to be arranged in a dictionary and candidates were supposed to find the word with 440th rank), 1 question from Binomial Theorem (7^103 was given and candidates had to divide it by 23 to find the remainder), 1 question from Quadratic Equation which was mixed with another chapter of Maths. 1 question from Trignometry, 1 question from Complex Numbers mixed with Matrices and Determinants.
  • In Maths, there was 1 easy probability question regarding transfer of colored balls from one bag to another. 1 question had a mix of probability, matrix, and one more concept from Mathematics and candidates were supposed to find variance for this question.
  • Chemistry was doable and of moderate level. Students said that only those who would have thoroughly read NCERT for Chemistry would have been able to do the Chemistry paper with accuracy as there was lots of theoretical statement-based questions. In some questions, organic and physical chemistry were mixed which were lengthy to solve. 1 question came from Chemical Equilibrium and no questions were asked from ionic equilibrium.
  • As per students, Physical Chemistry questions were tricky. 1 question from Biomolecule where candidates were supposed to find the essential amino acid. 1 statement-based question from Salt Analysis where complex compounds were given and the question asked to find the unpaired electron of the yellow colour complex compound. 1 question from Electrochemistry where candidates were supposed to find in what element O2 gas will evolve into
  • In Chemistry 2 questions came from Coordination Compounds, 2 questions from Chemical Kinetics, 1 question from Chemical Bonding, 1 question from GOC where Hexene was given along with double and triple bonds and candidates were supposed to find sigma and pi bonds. 1 question from d and f block.
  • In JEE Main 29 Jan 2025 Shift 2, Inorganic Chemistry dominated the chemistry section followed by Physical Chemistry and at last Organic Chemistry. Organic Chemistry only had 2 questions.
  • Many students said that 99 percentile for JEE Main 29 January 2025 Shift 2 would be around 180-200 marks.
  • Many students took almost an hour to solve Maths section of theJEE Main 29 January 2025 Shift 2.
  • A lot of students were able to attempt only 5-9 questions from Maths section.
  • 99 percentile for JEE Main 29 January 2025 Shift 2 would be around 180-200 marks.
  • Overall number of good attempts as per students would be 44-51 for JEE Main 29 January 2025 Shift 2. However, due to Maths being lengthy and Chemistry being more conceptual and statement-based, number of good attempts for multiple students came around 40-43.
