Jawaharlal Nehru University organised its second convocation after 46 years. The varsity held its first convocation ceremony in the year 1972 when Mr. G. Parthasarathi was the Vice Chancellor. The event triggered a controversy back then due to the controversial speech delivered by the students’ union president V.C. Koshy.

JNU in its second convocation ceremony awarded degrees to Ph.D. holders. The event took place on August 08, 2018, with an agenda to recognise the positive efforts made by the scholars and celebrate the outstanding work done by them.
