JNU Introduces Coronavirus Portal to Spread Relevant Information

Jawaharlal Nehru University or JNU launched a coronavirus portal on Wednesday, i.e. on 15th April 2020, in order to disseminate relevant information related to the contagious virus. Professor M. Jagadesh Kumar, the Vice-Chancellor of JNU explained the sole purpose of this action by stating that providing timely access to the verified information and recent developments related to COVID-19 is the need of the hour. COVID-19 portal is created to cater to the community at large and solve their queries related to coronavirus. Professor Kumar further added that JNU is a host to a large number of highly skilled and experienced faculty members. They are completely engaged and involved in data mining, information dissemination, diagnosis and vaccine research that eventually have an indirect or direct impact on effectively dealing with the infectious coronavirus.

The new coronavirus portal launched by JNU focuses on providing verified and authentic information to the masses. The information carried by the portal is gathered from genuine public domains along with advisories on health, travel, COVID-19 and government guidelines. The coronavirus portal introduced by JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) defines and explains the virus, its impact, terms associated with coronavirus, prevention methods, diagnostics of the virus and its treatment.
COVID-19 has largely affected the lives of the people. They are practising complete nation-wide lockdown in order to stay safe and sound. Due to the spread of the coronavirus, many universities and colleges have either postponed or cancelled their upcoming examination.

Earlier, a special task force for COVID-19 was also formulated by JNU under professor Pawan Dhar to seek out all the possible ways of working with the national agencies. The step was taken keeping in mind the public welfare. JNU has always come up with ways to impact society at large in the best way possible. It enables the best use of the available resources and turns them around to help the public and contribute to the welfare of the nation.
