18 JNU Students Clear UPSC IES (Indian Economic Service) Examination
UPSC Indian Economic Service examination, IES exam result was declared on January 10. 18 out of 32 qualified students are from JNU.
UPSC Indian Economic Service examination, IES exam results were declared on January 10. Indian Economic Service IES is an administrative inter-ministerial civil service under Group A of the Central Civil Services of the executive branch of the Government of India. It was introduced to formulate and implement economic policies and programme in India.

This year a total of 32 students qualified for the IES and ISS exam among which 18 students are from JNU. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the HRD minister congratulated the university and said that it was a prestigious moment for the Varsity. The minister took the social media and tweeted “We always said that JNU is our top university in education and research.
Among all the students who qualified for the exam, 6 candidates for IES and 11 candidates for ISS is kept provisional. Such candidates will have to wait till their original documents are verified by the Commission. Once it is confirmed, candidates will receive the offer.

A total of 495 posts will be allotted to students who qualify for the UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2020. It includes 21 vacancies for PwBD candidates.
It is one of the prestigious moments for JNU as the most number of qualifiers in the IES exam were from the respective university. This clearly indicates that the quality education that is being inculcated in students along with a good knowledge of the latest happenings in the Indian economy.
