Job Creation Lowest in Last 7 Years: President

Addressing a second visitors conference of educational institutions’ heads, President Pranab Mukherjee said that the lowest number of jobs were created in the past seven years. The president cautioned that India being a youth nation needs job creation for progressive growth.

Talking about the discontent among the students, the President said that students have to go through a lot of turmoil because of the lack of jobs. He asked the educationalists to provide students a harmonious environment where they can pursue higher education. He further added that academic leaders should be encouraged to promote the institutions globally to attract students and prevent brain drain.

Productivity in education is a must, said the president and further revealed that by creating enough jobs for the youth, India will be able to retain content, refinement and perfection. He further added that an opposite scenario can trigger depreciation in the market.

With machines replacing human labor, there is a need to redefine the way we look at the market. Stating that fact that many Indian professionals working abroad are willing to come back, the President also said that we must convert the ‘brain drain’ into ‘brain rain’.

The President emphasized the need to internationalize the educational institutions in India so that students can get better exposure and globally recognized education. This will create better job opportunities for students and will also make them more employable, further resolving the unrest in the educational institution.

The president also said that the education system must be continuously revised. Experienced academicians, teachers and other intellectuals must inspire and guide students, added the President.
