Joint Seat Allocation Authority for the year 2016 has announced the dates and time of seat allotment schedule for IITs, NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs. JOSAA 2016 was recently introduced by the HRD ministry.
As per the schedule, JOSAA will announce JEE Main 2016 All India Ranks on June 23. Seat allotment process will start from 24th June onwards. The last date to registrar and fill choices is 28th June 2016 after which students will not be able to change or fill any choices.
JOSAA 2016 will conduct counseling in four rounds. The first round will begin on June 30. Following is the schedule released by JOSAA 2016 for seat allotment:

Dates for seat allocation will be provided soon.
Candidates can register for JOSAA 2016 by simply entering their personal details like - gender, state code of eligibility and nationality, and contact details. A seat acceptance fee is applicable if candidate wants to accept the seat and the candidate will have to report at the respective reporting centre for document verification. Reporting centres will be opened from 10:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs, while the counselling is in progress.
The seat acceptance fee for SC, ST, GEN-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD or ST-PwD category students is Rs. 20,000 whereas for all other candidates, the fee is Rs. 45,000.
Students can withdraw admissions if they are not satisfied with seat allocation after each round of counselling except the last one.
JEE Main and JEE Advanced ranks of students are considered for the joint seat allocation process.
