JoSAA Round 2 Cutoff 2023: JoSAA released the Round 2 cutoff on July 7, and the candidates can now check the opening and closing ranks for IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates who are yet to be allocated a seat at their preferred institute can go through the closing cutoff rankings for the same provided below for PDF download. The cutoff for JoSAA Round 3 will be lower than that of Round 2.

As it suggests, the opening rank refers to the highest rank at which seat allocation to the specific institute, branch, category, and quota was done while the closing rank is the lowest rank at which the seat allocation took place.

For chances at a better or preferred seat, candidates must edit their option form accordingly and therein, it becomes very important to refer to the cutoff values, especially the closing ranks. Here are some of the important instructions to be noted:

• With each round, the cutoff rankings will lower, thus increasing the chances of admission at a particular institute. However, it is also to be noted that the number of available seats will also decrease.
• While editing the option form before round 3 allocation, candidates must check the cutoff of their preferred institute and if it falls approximately in the same rank range as theirs, then the candidate will have a high chance of being allotted a seat at the institute-branch.
• It is also advised for the candidate to check other possible institutes whose cutoff closing ranks fall in the range of their ranks. If interested, candidates can add such colleges to their option form as well.
• The institute-branch combinations must be added in a decreasing preference order in the option form.
• Candidates must not add all higher colleges than their rank range as it will result in issues like non-allotment of a seat.
