The Maharashtra Federation of Junior College Teachers Organisation (MFJCTO) has decided to continue with non-cooperation in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) paper assessment. The decision was taken on the backdrop of dialogues held with the principal secretary Nand Kumar on Monday being inconclusive.
The organisation's president, Anil Deshmukh said that the secretary had conveyed his inability on taking any decisions on financial matters.

As most of the organisation's demands are related to salary, the MFJCTO has decided to continue with protests. "The secretary said that the matter has to be discussed with the finance minister for a firm stand on the teachers' demands. Following this, we have requested the state government to arrange a meeting with the finance minister. Until such a meeting is arranged and until the issue is resolved, the teachers' organisation will continue with non-cooperation in the assessment process," Deshmukh said.

A S Talekar acting president of the Kolhapur District Federation of Junior College Teachers Organisation (KDFJCTO), said that the organisation has committed to continue with the agitation until written orders are drawn by the state government.
"Since the paper assessment has already started, teachers associated with the work have informed the concerned authorities that they will not assess more than one paper a day. The assessment work is in its earliest stage at the moment and if the issue is resolved within a week, we might be able to draw result on time. If the state postpones its decision regarding this, the result will also inevitably get delayed," Talekar said.
According to the teachers' organisation, despite informing the education minister Vinod Tawde and other concerned authorities on the issue a few months ago, the state is not initiating any dialogue to resolve the issue. The members said that, the teachers appointed in May 2012 have not been allotted salary and many private unaided schools have also not been provided with grants, despite their compliance with the government's norms.
The MFJCTO said that, the federation has around 60,000 teachers across the state associated with it, while the KDFJCTO has around 1,800 members from across the district.
