Karnataka SSLC Exam 2022 Latest Pattern
The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) had announced a few changes in the class 10 board examinations in 2022. As per the Director of KSEEB, the students will now be provided 15-30 mins extra time over the specified 3-hour exam duration. This provision for extra time has been put forth due to the changes brought in the exam formate.
For the core and first language, students will be offered 15 mins on top of the specified time period, meanwhile, for the second and third languages, the duration has been bumped up by 30 mins each. A statement from the Block Education Officer of Mysore Rural, additional time will be provided to the students. Along with the additional time, the number of one-word answers, as well as MCQs, has been decreased. In the paper for the first language, the number of MCQs and One-Word answers have been reduced to 17 questions from 23 and the number of question in the 3-mark category have gone up from 27 to 33 marks.
For the second language exam paper, the number of questions in MCQs, One-Word, two-marks, and four-marks, have also been reduced. The revised question paper will now consist of 4 marks in MCQs from the earlier 8 marks, 12 marks in the one-word questions from the previous 16 marks, and 16 marks in the two marks category from the previous 24 marks. The number of questions in the four-marks category has also been reduced from the previous 20 marks to 16 marks now. Meanwhile, the number of questions in the 3-mark category has been increased from 12 to 27 marks. Along with these changes, another 5 mark questions will also be added to the question paper.
These changes have been added to the question papers of Sciences, Social Sciences, Mathematics as well as the papers for the third language.
Karnataka SSLC Class 10 Exams 2022 Major Changes
Some of the major changes related to Karnataka SSLC class 10 exams 2022 are as follows:
There will be a change in the format of Karnataka SSLC class 10 exams 2022.
Students will only have to appear in two examinations.
The first examination will be on core subjects — Science, Mathematics and Social Sciences will be clubbed in one paper and the second examination will be on languages.
These papers will be multiple-choice questions of 120 marks each.
The model questions papers will be made available to the students before the same.
Furthermore, as per the instructions, students will be given an additional time of 15 minutes to read the question paper. On the other hand, students with learning disabilities and the visually impaired will be given an extra hour for all the papers. The exams will be conducted in a stringent manner.

The SOP for Karnataka SSLC class 10 exams 2022 is as follows:
The SOP mandated sanitising the exam halls, furniture, and toilets daily by spraying disinfectant solutions before and after the exam.
There would be 12 children in the examination hall and only one student at each desk to maintain physical distancing.
Vaccinating the teachers, staff, and officials involved in conducting the examination with the cooperation of the district administration is mandatory
Students should not gather at any time.
There should be two rooms reserved for candidates suffering from cough, common cold, and flu.
There should be a thermal scanner, pulse oximeter, first aid boxes, and hand sanitisers at the entrance.
Students would be given masks at the entrance of the health counters in the exam halls.
Also, there would be ambulances reserved in each Taluk for those involved in the SSLC examination.
There would also be a COVID care centre for those COVID-positive students to write the exam If anyone in the family is infected and the candidate is in isolation and is found to be healthy, he or she would be allowed to write the test at the nearby COVID Care Centre after testing the student.
