Karnataka State Law University Postpones Last Year Exams Amid COVID Scare
Karnataka State Law University has postponed the last year exams due to the nation-wide spread of COVID-19. The university has decided to temporarily promote students based on the marks secured in the internal exams.
Karnataka State Law University or KSLU has postponed its schedule for the final year examination in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. The last semester exams of KSLU were set to be held from September 21, however, owing to the spread of COVID-19, the university has come up with the decision to postpone the exams.
Karnataka Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, JC Madhuswamy, has confirmed the news by claiming that the final year exams of Karnataka State Law University have been postponed and will now be conducted through an online mode as directed by the BCI (Bar Council of India).
The minister added that three months of classes are pending at KSLU and conducting online classes is not an easy task. He further said that the final year exams are being pushed ahead to October.

The university will be starting regular or online classes by September and just one month after the classes resume, the pending exams will be conducted. Madhuswamy said that the students would be promoted to the next semester as per their performance in the internal exams held till March. However, this would just be a temporary adjustment as they would have to sit for the exams in the near future.
Earlier, Karnataka State Higher Education Department had also announced that due to the extended coronavirus lockdown, classes could not be conducted. The department decided to simply promote the UG and PG level students to the next semester without any exams.

Numerous students of the law colleges across the state felt relieved over the decision of the university to postpone the exams, as many of them belonging to rural areas or outside the state had gone back home. Plenty of law exams have been postponed or cancelled in India due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic. The colleges are expected to reopen, only once the normalcy returns.
