Kashmiri Students Should Refrain from Pursuing Courses in PaK: AICTE
The Jammu and Kashmir government has been asked to caution Kashmiri students to not to pursue courses in PaK. These courses are not recognised by the Government of India.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has been asked to caution Kashmiri students to not to pursue courses in PaK- Pakistan administered Kashmir. The J&K Govt. has been cautioned regarding the same by All India Council for Technical Education as the Government of India does not recognise the PaK courses.
A letter regarding the same was issued by All India Council for Technical Education- AICTE to the Secretary Higher Education Department and J&K General Administration Department stating that the students should not enrol from courses at these institutions as they are not recognised by the Government of India.
AICTE and Ministry of External Affairs have already been discussing the case of 25 such students who enrolled for the courses at Pak. Rajnish Jain, Secretary, University Grants Commission (UGC) issued an advisory on the same asking students to not to take admission in PaK educational institutions.

The UGC advisory informed that the Pakistan administered Kashmir is an integral part of the Union of India, and none of the educational institutions have either been set up by the Govt. of India or is recognised by UGC, MCI or AICTE.
Therefore, it is when the AICTE decided to take the matter in its hand and decided to caution the students from taking admission in any higher education institution/ university under the Pak. According to the reports, almost two-dozen of Kashmiri students get admission in Pakistan administered Kashmir medical colleges which are affiliated to University of Azad - Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.
