Kerala HC Directs MCC to Conduct NEET Counselling Under All India Quota
The court directed the government to conduct as many as counselling without limiting it to ‘two’.
The High Court of Kerala has directed the Medical Council Committee (MCC) to take NEET counselling under ‘All India Quota’ (AIQ) until the seats are filled. The court directed the government to conduct as many counselling sessions without limiting it to ‘two’. The judgement given by the HC gave a sigh of relief to the aspirants of medicine as they needn't worry now about whether they would get an admission or not.

The MCC of India has scheduled only two rounds of counselling, and if there are any vacant seats after the counselling, the seats will be surrendered back to the state government. According to the process, the state government fills up the vacant seats based on the state list. In this process, the meritorious candidates under AIQ were denied admission and less meritorious always got one.

Currently, the judgement given by HC will enable the MCC to take up continuous counselling or spot counselling to fill all the 15% of seats under AIQ.
