With extreme rains and landslides,10 districts have declared Kerala Schools Holiday 1 August 2024. Schools in the districts under orange and yellow alert are to remain closed.
Kerala Schools Holiday 1 August 2024: The weather in Kerala is under alert due to heavy rains as issued by the Indian Meteorological Department. As per the latest updates, the state will experience heavy rains for 5 days until August 3 and will improve until August 5. For 1 August schools in 10 districts have been declared as closed, same as July 31, namely Kottayam, Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur. The IMD has issued orange alerts with high risk in two districts, Kannur and Kasaragod for August 1 and the rest of the districts have been issued yellow alerts and some will be under no alert.
