KIIT 8th National Marketing Conclave Concludes
- The 8th national marketing conclave on 'Consumer in Digital Age' was conducted on 14th October at KIIT School of Management.
- Importance of digital marketing in order to sustain the business was the key highlight of the programme.
KIIT School of Management organized its 8th National Marketing Conclave that took into focus a contemporary theme i.e. Consumer in Digital Age on 14th October 2017. It provided students an opportunity to interact with business leaders and policy makers for a holistic learning.
A couple of technical sessions were held during the event. The first panel discussion was on ‘Consumer Power in Digital Age', which was conducted by panelists including:
- Sanjay Tripathy, Co-Founder & CEO Agilio
- Prasad Routray, Vice President & Business Head, Airtel, Mumbai
- Rohit Khurana, Co-Founder & COO, Tagbin Services
- D. J. Dutta, Vice President, Sales & Operations, Altitude Software
- Krishanu Chakravarty, CEO, Farmers’ Fortune India
They deliberated on the power that a consumer wields in the digitally connected world. The issues discussed ranged from cybersecurity, need and utility of omnichannel marketing, juxtaposition of traditional 4Ps of marketing with the emerging 8S of digital marketing along with the requirement of brands to connect with the consumer apart from customizing products as per their needs.

The second panel discussion on ‘Digital Capabilities of Firm’ was discussed upon by eminent panelists including:
- Deep Prakash Pant, Practice Head- Digital at BT - Global Services India
- Rahul Kohli, CEO, Indo Gulf Fertilizer
- Girija Shanker, Head-New Markets, India/South Asia, IBM Global Business Services
- Swapnil Dixit, Lead Product Alliances (Dev. Platform & Offline Innovation) Co-Founder and former CEO, Jagriti Yatra
- Vivek Merani, MD Magnoneg+
With the use of technology, marketing departments today, are able to quickly assimilate and synthesize a lot of consumer data, opined the panelists. The panel agreed to the fact that technology enables organizations to reach more customers at a lesser cost. The final session followed by informative and interactive workshops with thought-provoking discussions on topics such as Designing a Digital Product, Digital Advertising, Omni Channel Commerce, Next One Billion Digital Consumers and so on.

In his welcome address Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS highlighted the importance of digital marketing in the current era. Though this is the age of marketing, companies have to create robust products and services to sustain, he said.
